RIYADH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah yesterday honored Saif bin Fidaous Al-Shammary, who saved a woman from drowning, by awarding him the King Abdul Aziz Medal of the First Order.
Omar Ahmed Al-Faqeeh and Rasheed Zamil Al-Shammary received the King Abdul Aziz Medal of the Second Order from the king for their role in the rescue operation.
During a reception at his Janadriya ranch outside Riyadh, King Abdullah praised the three Saudis for their courageous and timely action in saving the life of a woman who was swept away by floodwaters in the central province of Hail.
The three Saudis thanked King Abdullah for the honor and said what they did for saving the life of that woman was their religious and national duty.
The king has also ordered that a new car be granted to one person whose car was swept away by floodwaters.
