YANBU: Fourteen passengers were injured when a bus collided with a cement truck 19 km outside Yanbu on the Umlaj highway.
Civil Defense teams and paramedics attended the crash site to rescue passengers. All of the injured were taken to Yanbu General Hospital, which was on alert after receiving news of the incident.
The injured — eight Turks, five Saudis and one Sudanese — were reported to be in good condition. All of the injured, except one, were released from hospital after receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old Turkish national died on Saturday after a water tanker hit him while crossing Jeddah’s Palestine Road. The body was taken to King Fahd Hospital. Police have launched an investigation, Al-Bilad newspaper reported yesterday.
