Progress Apama expands to ME

Progress Software Corporation will extend its global operations with dedicated sales teams for Progress Apama products in the Middle East. The move comes in response to existing Progress clients of Apama products increasing their activities within the region, and the wealth of new opportunities for electronic trading, risk management and surveillance as the Middle East market develops.

“Over the last few years we’ve seen the market for electronic-based trading in established locations such as New York, Chicago, London and Frankfurt flourish. This is a trend that is being replicated in the less established markets as competition heats up across the globe and because the benefits of electronic trading are being increasingly recognized and deployed,” said Eyad Abedalrazek, sales director, Middle East, Apama, Progress Software.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, will form the focus for the first phase of expansion within the Middle East, due to the recent growth of these financial centers within the region. Progress has customer activity in the region through global deployments of Apama products and wants to build on that base.

Toshiba launches call center

Toshiba Gulf has opened its new call center which will offer technical support services for Toshiba notebook customers across the Middle East region. The call center will provide service and assistance for consumers in both Toshiba hardware and basic pre-installed software support fields.

“Toshiba constantly engages in enhanced quality of service to offer more benefits to our customers, especially in the Middle East. Our customers can expect that Toshiba will continuously provide them multi-level support. Such is the aim of our Middle East-based call center,” stated Pieter Ickx, Toshiba Vice President for Emerging EMEA.

The Toshiba call center offers extensive service, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, processing inbound support calls catering to technical information, technical debugging and assisting clients in troubleshooting. Using advanced routing systems, Toshiba customers will speak to the right technical person every time they call through. Toshiba call representatives are highly trained on Toshiba products’ technical information, functionality and usability. Agents are capable of providing a high level of phone-based problem solving support before customers consider any on-site intervention. The multi-lingual, qualified agents support Toshiba through an efficient escalation procedure, aiming for the delivery of total customer satisfaction.

To oversee the call center, Toshiba has appointed a dedicated service manager — Binu Thomas, regional service manager for Toshiba Gulf Computer Systems Division. For technical support, customers can contact the Toshiba call center on 8008971401.
