SWCC aims to be pioneer in desal technology

JEDDAH: Fehaid Al-Sharief, governor of Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), yesterday emphasized the Kingdom’s determination to become a pioneer in desalination industry and technology. “Being the world’s largest producer of desalinated water and custodian of the largest desal plant, it will not be suitable for Saudi Arabia to continue importing desalination technology. We have all the potentials to achieve success in this industry,” he said.

He considered the SR95 million sales of desal plant spare parts by local industries as a meager amount and hoped that the figure would go up in the coming years.
