First Web-connected home printer
From HP, for launch in the US market, comes the first Web-connected home printer: The HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web. Designed for the digital generation and connected households, the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web features is an entirely new Web-based printing platform with HP applications (apps). Similar to other Internet-connected devices, these apps, which are viewable on an extra-large TouchSmart panel, allow people to connect directly with available online content.
In addition to receiving apps preloaded on the printer, people can download new ones as they become available at the HP Apps Studio to suit their interests and needs. With the sweep of a finger, users will be able to browse and view popular Web destinations and simply touch the app of their choice to launch a Web page where they can customize and print content on demand in an easy-to-read format. People will be able to create and share their own apps to customize their printers through the HP Apps Studio starting in late 2009.

High-resolution video wall system
Samsung Electronics is showcasing the Samsung Ultra-Definition Display (UD) System, an interactive, video wall solution. While popular at exhibits and trade shows, video walls can be installed in conference rooms, operation centers and auditoriums. Samsung UD has the ability to display information that originates from up to 125 networked PCs. UD enables one control server to manage up to 250 video displays, creating a virtual monitor, which can display a wide variety of mixed content in real-time. Through conversational control and administration, information can be shared over the network and presented from remote locations. Video streams sent from webcams, security cameras and video files can also be displayed directly on the video wall.
Samsung UD provides an optimal viewing experience, maximizing image quality through its ability to reposition and resize images up to 1GB or larger in real time. The Ultra High Resolution Contents Display incorporates Giga Pixel image support, which eliminates resolution degradation. Giga Pixel capability enables users to hone in on static imagery such as satellite photos or high definition images and project them on the video wall. Samsung UD can zoom in on an image by 0.1 to 10 times to allow for close up viewing.
