JEDDAH: Saudis will now be able to charter elite business aviation services from Riyadh and Jeddah. This follows an alliance formed between Jeddah-based ARABASCO and Abu-Dhabi-based Royal Jet at a meeting held at the Jeddah Hilton yesterday. ARABASCO President & CEO Retd. Brig. Gen. Mohamed Al-Shablan and Royal Jet President & CEO Shane Jeffree O’Hare signed an agreement and announced the alliance, which comes into force with immediate effect.

Under the agreement, ARABASCO and Royal Jet will make available private jet charter flights as well as facilitate special domestic and international travel from the Kingdom, using the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) and Gulfstream 200, which can accommodate 30 and 12 passengers, respectively, to cities like London, Moscow and Bangkok, and also most of the regional business and leisure hubs.

The alliance is a significant boost to executive business aviation in Saudi Arabia, which is expected to mark substantial growth despite the global economic slowdown. “Through this partnership, we will be able to provide executives and families alike with superior private jet service through Royal Jet,” Al-Shablan later told a press conference later.
