Jewelry bag goes missing from Saudi jet

JEDDAH: Jeddah police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to a woman passenger losing a bag of jewelry worth SR150,000 in an incoming flight to Jeddah.

The Saudi woman said in her complaint that she accidentally placed the bag in the overhead compartment of the plane.

“It contained my rings, watch and other jewelry studded with diamonds,” she said. “I remembered it only after I left the plane. Instantly I informed the officials of the Saudi Arabian Airlines. They searched the plane and found the bag but the jewelry was missing.”

Police questioned Saudia employees and officials but have yet to track down the missing jewelry.
