RIYADH: The Muslim World League (MWL) and the Arab League lauded on Wednesday Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah on the call made in a message he sent to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas who opened on Tuesday Fatah's first congress in 20 years.
Welcoming King Abdullah's call to bridge the rift dividing the Palestinian factions, Secretary General of the MWL Abdullah Al-Turki said Palestinians should heed the King's message and consider it a roadmap to the goals of the Muslim Ummah, not just the for the Palestinians.
Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa commended from Cairo the stand taken by King Abdullah on the Palestinian issue, particularly his stress on the immediate need for Palestinian unity and end of quarrels that make matters worse.
"The king has spoken on behalf of all of us," Moussa said in a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency.
