MAKKAH: Haj Minister Fouad Al-Farsy is scheduled to make an inspection tour to several Tawafa organizations in Makkah on Saturday, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
The visit will include the Tawafa Organization for Pilgrims from Turkey, Europe, America and Australia, the Tawafa Organization for South Asia and the Tawafa Organization for Non-Arab African Pilgrims.
Al-Farsy will discuss the ministry’s plans to protect the pilgrims from the H1N1 virus besides inspecting the preparations made by the organizations to serve the pilgrims for the upcoming Haj season.
“The minister will visit all administrative offices and service departments and meet with the members of the board of directors besides viewing presentations of the activities of the organization,” said chairman of the board of directors of the Tawafa Organization for Pilgrims from Turkey, Europe, America and Australia, Abdullah Ala Eddine.
The organization met recently with Haj delegations of various countries to discuss the arrangements for their accommodation, transportation and the scheduling of Jamrat stone throwing. The number of pilgrims to be served in this organization is more than 270,000 people coming from 75 countries.
He said during the discussions with the Haj delegations he stressed the need for increased awareness campaigns for pilgrims particularly on Saudi regulations and the correct practice of Haj rites from their own countries before they leave to Saudi Arabia. Another important matter he discussed with the Haj delegations was the health precautions the pilgrims should take particularly against the swine flu, he said.
The other chairmen of organizations the minister is scheduled to meet are Adnan Katib of the Tawafa organization for South Asian pilgrims and Abdul Wahid Saifuddin of the Tawafa organization of African Non-Arab pilgrims.
“The South Asian Tawafa Organization is fully geared to receive the guests of Allah and offer them the best service during their stay in the Kingdom,” Katib said in a statement.
