MAKKAH: The Makkah Regional Council, in the first meeting of its third session Saturday under Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, approved the establishment of 29 new health care centers. There will be 11 in Makkah, 11 in Jeddah and seven in Taif. The meeting also established three committee that are as follows:
• The Committee on Projects and Utilities: It will review the budgets of government departments in the region, propose projects to be included in the general budget, follow up the implementation of approved projects, coordinate between government departments in the region and suggest substitute finances.
• Committee on the Affairs of Provinces: It will make field visits to various provinces to assess their needs and requirements and conditions there and report back to the council.
• Committee for Social Development: It will consider social services and review the needs of the provinces in this regard. It will also study negative social issues and suggest solutions. The meeting also considered the work of local councils in other provinces of the Makkah region and set up modalities and mechanisms for implementing recommendations and decisions.
