London for many with kids is an ideal scientific, and cultural destination; as a matter of fact, it’s the ideal place for those who seek fun and education on the same level. My kids are both adults now but I have found it more than fun taking my nieces and nephews to various places.
Diggerland is the ideal place to put a toddler behind the wheel of an earth mover. This will provide an unforgettable day out since children are supervised while they drive dump trucks and mini-diggers.
London Wetland Center is a 42-hectare wildlife waterfowl center which is a great place to explore at any time, but there is a range of special school holiday events this summer, including clay molding, safari walks and wildlife photography.
At Battersea Park Boating Lake, kids and adults can hire either pedal boats or rowing boats by the hour. It’s one of the cheapest places to go boating in London and has plenty of space.
Go Ape is a high-wire forest adventure in Bracknell-basically a giant obstacle course built through the trees, complete with ladders, walkways, bridges, tunnels and a 160-meter zip-wire. So if you are in London with kids, visit one or all of them.
Dear Nadia
My husband and I have been working in Riyadh for five years now; many of our trips have been to the Gulf. Our next trip is going to be to north Africa, specifically Tunisia and the ancient city of Kairouan. What do you know about the city? — Charlize, Riyadh
Dear Charlize
The name of the city is Alqairwan and its Muslim conqueror was Okbah bin Nafea. Many call Alqirwan the city of poetry. Famous places to visit there are: The grave of the well— known Abi Zomaa a friend of the Prophet (pbuh) with its fountain that dates back to more than 1,000 years. The second historical place is the Great Mosque of Okbah bin Nafea with 17 kinds of marble flooring and a massive minaret. And don’t miss the copper market that surpasses even those in Egypt. The city is also famous for its handmade carpets so be sure to check them out as well.
