MADINAH: An Egyptian intern at the Maternity and Child Hospital here was handed over to the Investigation and Prosecution Commission for further questioning prior to sending him to court for trial on sexual harassment and drug charges.
The young man was caught at a resthouse smoking hashish after a young girl informed the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice that he was harassing her.
Early reports said the young man was a doctor at the hospital, but it turned out that he was an intern in his final year in the faculty of medicine at Taibah University in Madinah.
Spokesman of the commission in Madinah, Bandar Al-Ribaish, said in a statement the commission had arrested a young man of an Arab nationality who was harassing employees under him. He said the commission made the move to arrest him after receiving a complaint from a girl who said he had promised her marriage and later threatened to scandalize her if she did not succumb to his evil desires.
She said the young man did the same to other girls and had sex with them at his apartment in Madinah. She said he used to call late in the night to sleep with her and ask her to clean his apartment and cook for him.
