JAZAN: Five people died after the pickup they were in crashed into a camel in the Al-Darb province late on Thursday.
The dead included two Saudis and one Somali — the identities of the other two men have still not been confirmed. Paramedics from the Saudi Red Crescent and police attended the scene shortly after the crash and transferred the bodies to Al-Darb General Hospital.
Meanwhile, a fireworks’ smuggler died inside his car after a cache of fireworks that he was carrying accidentally blew up. The incident happened in the Abu Al-Radeef village on the border of Yemen. There were also three other Saudis inside the car. Police received reports of the fire and rushed to the location.
The man’s burned body was taken to the morgue at Samtah General Hospital.
In another incident, two Pakistani men suffered injuries when their truck overturned and caught fire. The Fire Department managed to put the fire out and rescue the two men. They were taken to hospital for treatment. Traffic police have launched an investigation into the incident.
