Cameroon won’t cut Haj quota

JEDDAH: Consul General of Cameroon Omar Eissa, who is also head of Cameroon’s Haj delegation, said his country did not plan to reduce the number of pilgrims because of swine flu and would send 3,500 pilgrims for Haj this year. Eissa said this in a meeting with the chairman of the Tawafa organization responsible for the pilgrims of non-Arab Africa, Abdul Wahid bin Burhan Saifuddin, in Jeddah on Sunday. Former Consul General of Cameroon Mahmoud Yusuf was also present at the meeting.

Hundreds of illegals arrested

JAZAN: Police in Harth, Jazan province arrested on Sunday about 700 Yemenis who entered the Kingdom without entry permits and have been working as laborers. The police teams also arrested several expatriates for illegally cooking Ramadan food in an unhygienic manner. The police teams also foiled an attempt to smuggle 600 packets of qat to the region.
