AMMAN: Jordan will host a conference later this week described by organizers as “crucial for the future of mobility, touring and motorsport” with the participation of 30 countries and some of the biggest names in the motoring world, a statement from Jordan Motorsport said Monday.
Prince Faisal, chairman of the Jordan Motorsport, said that he was running as a candidate for the upcoming FIA elections as vice president sport (Middle East) in support of Ari Vatanen’s presidential bid, and has followed it up by inviting Arab and other countries to Jordan for the Amman Extraordinary Motoring Conference on Thursday.
Vatanen and Formula One racing legend Jackie Stewart will be among the high profile dignitaries also flying in for what promises to be a vital day of discussion.
“It is a great pleasure to invite so many friends and colleagues from the region and beyond to Jordan at this crucial time in the history of the FIA to discuss the future for mobility, touring and sport,” Prince Faisal was quoted by the statement as saying.
“I believe that through close coordination and the exchange of knowledge and expertise, our countries can achieve sustainable development in our motoring endeavours. I cannot stress enough the importance of this gathering of the most influential minds and decision makers from all aspects of motoring from across the region and beyond,” he added.
More than 30 countries from Asia, Africa and Europe, including all Arab automobile clubs, are scheduled to take part.
