JEDDAH: Bab Rizq Jameel ended its second Jameel bazaar at Tahliya center in Jeddah on Friday.
The 10-day event, with 40 participants from productive families, is an ongoing initiative of the Abdul Lateef Jameel society.
Goods such as accessories, food, handicrafts, leather products and clothes among others, were sold at the bazaar.
For the first time an auction was held to sell various pieces of artwork, attracting over 120 participants and selling more than 100 art pieces at a combined cost of SR200,000.
Bazaar supervisor Sarah Imam said there was a huge female attendance.
“Women formed over two thirds of the audience, which shows awareness of such events is higher among women.”
Nahla Al-Khairaiji said she had attended the event last year and this had encouraged her to visit again.
Since 2003 Bab Rizq Jameel has supported over 8,000 small projects throughout the Kingdom and helped 65,000 productive families.
