JEM Strikers enter finals, Falcon tops playoff

JEDDAH: Safe with a 49-point lead (552-513) from closest pursuer Shawly Bowlers, JEM Strikers calmly settled for a 4-16 against Gulf Oil and entered the finals with 559 computed points on the last day of eliminations, while Falcon bowled strong on week 27 to lead the four teams that advanced to stepladder 1 of the FEDBG-FMBL 8th conference at the Bowling City here.

Team captain Efren San Pedro decided to coach from the sidelines and let Nurissa Ramos, Tess Pilapil and Michelle San Pedro enjoy with Archie Santos, Ernie Pilapil and Faisal Relativo.

JEM Strikers lost game 1 but took game 2 then though they again relinquished the third game they made the match interesting as their three lady bowlers outscored the male teammates at 1608-1597 at the end of their 3350-3305 battle. Winner Gulf Oil had team head Marlon Heredia as the top scorer at 615 with an opening 235. Jett Santos backed Heredia up with 606 including his 234 endgame.

With JEM Strikers (559) in the top 5 after the regular elimination were Shawly Bowlers (536), Lucky Strikes (524), defending champion Luvenor-IV (508) and Bowling Adiks (502).

During the three-game playoff pick four more teams in the stepladder matches, Bowling Is Fun topped game 1 with 1273 followed by Falcon with 1227 then JBS 300 & US with 1211 and Jet Loggers with 1183.

Falcon took the front with their blitz of 1270 with BIF, JBS and Jet Loggers breaking into the top four on the second salvo.

The third game changed the setup when JBS slowed and Gulf Oil bowled strong in the homestretch. When the dust settled, Falcon led with 3703, followed by Bowling Is Fun 3695, Jet Loggers 3554 and Gulf Oil 3472.

Hassan Halawani topped Falcon’s board with 742 (251, 262, 229), followed by Jun Henoguin 664 (215, 237, 212), Jun Pilipiña 585, Ally Ibn (630), Jimmy Aragones (495) and Puri Parena (568).

Bowling Is Fun had Rudy Punzlan at 654, Pip R. Planas 629, Robert de Guzman 621, Dennis Arevalo 580, Minda Guevarra 624 and Farida de Guzman 583.

Ed Tuico was the top scorer for Jet Loggers at 658 with Romy Bunagan on 620. Cherry Heredia did well for Gulf Oil totaling 559 to back up spouse Marlon Heredia (572) and Jett Santos (681).

Lance & 3rdy ranked fifth with 3444, JBS & US followed with 3436, Sky Freight 3399, La Paz Bakeshop 3339 and Perfect Breakers 3268.
