JEDDAH: Dashing opener Fahad scored an unbeaten 104 and helped his team Natco Saudi Arabia to maintain their unbeaten run when they got the better of fancied ACE Travel by 7 wickets in the Division I cricket league sponsored by ACE Travel and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
At JCA ground No.1 Natco won the toss and preferred to chase Ace Travel’s score.
ACE Travel’s opener Athar scored a magnificent 110 (10x4, 7x6) while his partner Zain Al Salikeen scored 23.
Later they were supported by inform batsman Atta Ur Rehman who hit quick fire 35 runs off 15 balls as they totalled 184 for 3 in their allotted 17 overs.
Natco from the word go were in command as openers Fahad and Jawad took charge as they pelted all the rival bowlers at will. Fahad made an unbeaten 104 runs in just 44 balls (15x4), 6x6) while Jawad made 48 off 22 balls. Natco past their target scoring 190 losing only 3 wickets in 14.5 overs.
Young Hamza Zain took 2 wickets.
In the other match Jaweed Ahmed’s blitzkrieg 95 (10x4, 7x6) off 29 balls ensured Zinda Tilismath of Hyderabad, India, score an easy 7-wicket win over Pak Ahmadabad-XI. Pak Ahmadabad-XI batting first made 183 for 7 wickets in the allotted 16 overs. Syed Ashraf Shah proved his worth once again scoring 115 (11x4, 4x6) valuable runs. Urooj took 3 wickets. Sayeed Khan who had represented Saudi U-17 team in the ten Nation Asia Cup in Pakistan earlier had was the other wicket-taker with 2 wickets.
In reply the Zinda-XI openers started their innings with a bang with inform Jaweed Ahmed who was unlucky to be caught out at the mid wicket boundary. Urooj the other opener was lbw for 31. They scored 185 for 3 in 13 overs.
