JEDDAH: Feature and documentary films from Saudi Arabia and 13 other countries feature the 3rd Asian film festival being held for 13 days from next week.
“This is the first time we are hosting the film festival at three locations on different days as against the past two years’ practice of staging it at the residence of the Indonesian consul general,” Japanese Consul General Toshimitsu Ishigure told Arab News on Tuesday. “The Japanese, Sri Lankan and Brunei consulates will be this year’s venues,” said Ishigure who is also the dean of Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC).
The Japanese consulate will screen Japanese documentary and feature films on the opening day on Feb. 17. Each of the succeeding four days will have Korean, Indian, Chinese and Thai films. The venue will move to the Consulate General of Sri Lanka from Feb. 22 to 24 when Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh will screen their movies. The Consulate General of Brunei will be the venue from Feb. 25 to March 1 when Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei will screen their films.
