JEDDAH: To celebrate the return of Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, residents and visitors will witness on Thursday the 7th International Skydiving Championship.

Featuring skydivers from 16 countries including Arab and GCC the event is being staged under the auspices of the Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.

According to paratrooper colonel Mubarak Al Sweilem, president of the Asian and the Arab Federation of Air Sports and director general of the tournament, the tournament’s main objective is to show the loyalty of the Air Free Jump lovers to the crown prince.

He said “we are proud to organize such an international event and we find it a great opportunity to share the joy of our own people because of the return and safety of Crown Prince Sultan during the tournament when a number of international competitors will gather to show their skills in the air over Jeddah’s corniche.”

“This year the tournament will highlight the Global Team which will show their amazing skydiving in different styles. Also, the Saudi skydiving national team will fly the biggest Saudi flag which will be signed by participants, referees, members of the committee and also the fans,” he added.
