RIYADH: Saudi customs stopped attempts to smuggle in large quantities of cigarettes to the Kingdom and flee with SR1 million in cash from the country in two separate operations at Al-Batha checkpoint close to the UAE borders, on Thursday, the Saudi Press Agency reported. In the first operation a man attempting entry was found carrying 200 cartons of cigarettes stored in the boot of his car. In the second operation a man leaving the Kingdom to a neighboring country was arrested with SR933,000 in undeclared funds.
