JEDDAH: Cristal Global did just enough to keep its place in the top four of the team standings during as the eliminations moved into the halfway stage in the Inter-Company Bowling League (ICBL) 25th Conference at Jeddah Lanes in Mosadia Plaza here.
Cristal Global netted 40 points behind Kulisap ni Moe 50 and SAB Middle East 47 on the 11th week of the tournament in which the first four teams after 20 weeks of elimations gain automatic berths for the championship round. The next 10 in the 14-team field play three-game series with handicap to determine the fifth and sixth qualifiers who in turn will be joined by a seventh qualifier in a shootout counting as the first match in the championship round. The first match winner then advances to the next match against the No. 4 team with the winner to challenge the third qualifier for the right to meet the No. 2 team. In the championship match the No. 1 team carries a twice to beat privilege against the fourth match winner.
Mix Force edged out Faris Bowling for fourth place by half a point on 39.5. Faris Bowling finished on 39 points.
Sky Freight-TFC pooled 34 points followed by JEM Strikers 31, MC Hammer 29, Fun Time and Hidada Ltd. 25. Bringing up the last four places were Saudi Diyar Consultant 24.5 points. Pa-Tsamba 15, Strikers 13 and Sky Land 5.
The race for the individual Bowler of the Week awards went to Nonie Yap of Kulisap and M. Pamintuan of SAB Middle East. Yap shot the high series of 747 and Pamintuan topped the distaff side at 609.
Randy Mata paced Cristal Global with 652, while teammates Joel Nidoy, Danny Pamintuan, the team captain, L. Escondo and E. Brusset added 617, 547, 599 and 537.
In addition to Pamintuan the others who helped SAB Middle advance the cause were Bonnie Garcia with 681, Ladio Gonzales with 612, Jojie Manalansan with 593 and B. Cerbito with 491.
Mix Force had Abet Dorado at the top of the scoring ladder with 621 followed by M. Alvarado 574, Pancho Cuevas 569, Bobby Baraquel 559 and C. Bautista 553.
Igna Salgado led the way at Faris Bowling at 607. The other scores that counted were 594 by Hero Garcia 574 by Gerry Mandanas, 585 by S. Patayan and 552 by Su. Patayan.
The trio of James Galvan, Goying Salazar and Rene Santiago hit 664, 654 and 603 to propel Sky Freight which also netted 532 from B. Bonner and 469 from I. Sayago.
