Chris Neil scored late in the second to draw Ottawa even at 4. Milan Michalek and Daniel Alfredsson also scored for the Senators, up 3-1 after the first.
Alexander Semin scored his third goal of the game—his 29th of the season— 13:37 into the third to draw Washington within one. Tomas Fleischmann and Jeff Schultz also scored for the Capitals.
Oilers 3 Kings 2, SO: In Los Angeles, Lubomir Visnovsky scored in the 10th round of a shootout after Edmonton blew a two-goal lead in the third period, and the Oilers beat Los Angeles to snap a franchise-record 11-game road losing streak.
Defenseman Denis Grebeshkov scored in the second period, Dustin Penner added a power-play goal in the third, and Jeff Deslauriers made 41 saves. It was only the Oilers’ fourth victory in their last 28 games overall.
Dustin Brown and Ryan Smyth scored for Los Angeles. The Kings have lost two in a row following a club-record nine-game winning streak.
Hurricanes 4 Sabres 3, OT: In Raleigh, N.C., Sergei Samsonov scored 1:47 into overtime for Carolina’s fourth straight victory—and Buffalo’s sixth loss in row.
Brandon Sutter had a goal and two assists, and Stephane Yelle and Ray Whitney also scored to helped give Carolina coach Paul Maurice his 400th career.
Derek Roy scored twice, and Jochen Hecht added a goal for Buffalo.
Sharks 3 Red Wings 2, SO: In Detroit, Patrick Marleau scored the lone goal in a shootout, and Evgeni Nabokov made a career-high 50 saves for San Jose.
Joe Thornton and Dwight Helminen scored in regulation for the Western Conference-leading Sharks. Johan Franzen and Jason Williams scored for Detroit.
Canucks 3 Panthers 0: In Sunrise, Fla., Roberto Luongo made 31 saves for his fourth shutout of the season, and Alex Burrows and Jannik Hansen scored second-period goals for Vancouver.
Ryan Kesler added a power-play goal in the third for the Canucks, 3-3 on the first leg of an NHL-record 14-game trip.
Bruins 5 Lightning 4: In Tampa, Fla., Michael Ryder and Milan Lucic scored two goals apiece, helping Boston beat Tampa Bay for its first three-game winning streak in more than six weeks.
Miroslav Satan also scored for the Bruins. Martin St. Louis and Steve Downie each scored two goals for Tampa Bay.
Stars 3 Flames 1: In Calgary, Alberta, rookie Jamie Benn scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, and Marty Turco made 33 saves for Dallas.
Mike Ribeiro scored twice for Dallas, tying it at 1 with a power-play goal late in the second and icing it with an empty-netter directly off a faceoff.
Jarome Iginla scored his 25th goal for Calgary.
