Strathclyde police say officers were called at about 8:40 a.m. Sunday, but have released few other details. Officers set up a cordon and erected a white tent in front of the building.
The building is part of the Red Road development, a 1960s public housing project made up of blocks up to 31 stories high.
Intended to be modern replacements for slum housing, the buildings have become emblems of urban deprivation and are slated for demolition.
Many of the apartments are unoccupied because local authorities have moved residents to new accommodations.
