Members of the construction crew fled and no deaths or injuries were reported in the attack in Khost province's Domanda district. Suspected Taleban, who are active in the mountainous eastern region that borders Pakistan, descended on the camp around 2:00 a.m. Saturday (2130 GMT), the Interior Ministry said.
Such attacks seek to discourage foreign involvement in Afghanistan and destabilize the country's central government.
Meanwhile, in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, two members of a nomadic tribe were killed by a roadside bomb on Friday, the ministry said.
