The Saudi daily has been reporting and analyzing local, regional and international events and creating its impact on politics, economy, technology and social life not only of the local community but at the regional and international levels  — Gulf, Arab and Muslim countries and the outside world. With its distinctive, innovative and credible reporting, Arab News has won the confidence of its readers who comprise a distinguished English-speaking people in the country. It has never failed in reporting events and developments taking place the world over and in providing analysis of a wide range of issues to its readers.
The publishing of Arab News as the first English-language daily from the Kingdom is a matter of pride for its parent organization, the Saudi Research and Publishing Co. It is also a matter of pride that Arab News has been placed at the top position of English dailies published in the Kingdom.
Since the first day of its publication, the newspaper has consistently maintained its social commitment and a reporting style marked by neutrality of views and in-depth contents. It cannot be denied that the newspaper has been able to make its enviable achievement with a devoted editorial staff.
That is why, in my view, Arab News has become the choice newspaper of a large section of the Kingdom’s intelligent readers, foreign missions operating in the country and of those who work in sectors such as banking and foreign companies, in addition to English-speaking expatriate workers. A considerable number of Saudi businessmen depend on it to keep in touch with the changing trends in foreign markets and to have a deep understanding of the economic undercurrents in the country and the outside world. The newspaper also provides them in-depth analysis of world developments and its impact on the global and national economies.
Arab News has actively covered the major developments in the Gulf, Arab and Islamic countries. Its balanced observations of the ongoing global economic crisis and its ramifications on the national economy are also commendable.
We can truly be proud of this towering media establishment that also plays the role of rejuvenating the Saudi youth and contributing to the enlightenment of the society. We also admire the success of the Saudi Research and Publishing Co., which was the first establishment to become aware of the nation’s need for an English daily 35 years ago. With the launch of Arab News, the company has fulfilled a great national service and that is what we are celebrating today.
On this momentous occasion, I offer my own, and on behalf of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and of my colleagues in the business world, our heartfelt congratulations to Arab News Editor in Chief Khaled Almaeena and his team who have been striving untiringly in the service of the Saudi media over these years.
We also greet all those who have contributed to the success of this newspaper including its administrative and technical teams. We also congratulate the Saudi Research and Publishing Co. for the success of Arab News and wish it continued success.
