“The training in the Makkah region is within the efforts of the Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) of the Ministry of Planning in order to prepare for the start of the census on April 28,” said Ibrahim ibn Muhammad Al-Humaizi, the supervisor of the census in Makkah region.
He said the enumerators would be trained how to fill in the questionnaire, how to do their job and how to deal with families.
The training of enumerators began all over the Kingdom last Monday with more than 43,000 trainees attending in more than 300 training centers in Riyadh.
Al-Humaizi said the census in Makkah would begin in the evening of next Tuesday with counting the number of worshippers inside the Holy Mosque and the number of people entering or exiting the region through naval, land and air-entry points.
Al-Humaizi said all real estate units consisting of accommodation and commercial buildings were numbered last month as part of the census. The first national census in the Kingdom was conducted in 1974, the second in 1992 and the third in 2004.
