The election was held at the Thai Consulate General over the weekend. Around 1,500 Thai residents from Makkah, Taif and Jeddah took part in the election.
Congratulating the new president, Thai Consul General Chalee Sakolvari, who assumed charge recently, took the opportunity to introduce himself to the community. He expressed his appreciation for the support the community had extended to the consulate in the past and hoped that such mutual cooperation would continue in the future. The consul General, who succeeds Praphat Chantaharn who returned home at the end of his posting, urged the community to continue to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the Kingdom. He hoped that the new president would play an effective role in forging links between the community and the consulate.
