Al-Gosaibi says census drive ends successfully

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Economy and Planning Khaled Al-Gosaibi said: “The census activities have been a success in terms of precision and comprehensiveness because of the support of all related government agencies.”
Al-Gosaibi stressed the importance of the census saying that the findings of the census would help in precisely planning to meet the needs of the people in the country for the present and future.
The minister commended the tireless efforts of the workers of the General Statistics and Information Department and other support staff in making the census a success.
The minister added that the census in the Kingdom was completed coinciding with the census in other Gulf Cooperation Council countries in line with a past decision of the GCC.
Saudi Arabia launched the activities of the fourth national population and housing census in February.
The census was conducted by the Department of Statistics and Information an affiliate of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
