Users who search for the United Kingdom in Saudi Arabia on Facebook will find the page which is jointly run by the British Embassy in Riyadh, the British Consulate General in Jeddah and the British Trade Office in Alkhobar.
The Facebook page will provide up-to-date information about traveling and studying in the UK in addition to interesting stories about Britain from around the world.  There is a space  where users can discuss British universities or leave the embassy feedback on its visa service.
Commenting on the new Facebook page, British Embassy spokesman Nick Heath said: “This page is part of the embassy’s commitment to staying in touch with Saudis of all ages.”
Heath said in the last three years the number of Saudis using Facebook has increased dramatically.
“We want to ensure that information about our services and Britain’s policies are accessible to all the Saudis who are using Facebook,” he said.
“Our hope is that the page will become a forum for Saudis to discuss issues that concern us all whether that be employment, peace in the Middle East, or climate change. If you are on Facebook why don’t you visit the UK in Saudi Arabia page and if you like it add it to your profile? That way we can keep you up-to-date with all the latest news and information.”
