MES announces talent contest winners

Thirty-one students representing various international schools in Jeddah took part in the finals of the annual contest that were held on the Indian Consulate premises, said E.P. Ubaidullah, general secretary of MES Jeddah Chapter. He said the children stunned the audience with a marvelous display of talents.
A large number of people, including academics and parents, were present to watch the contestants’ performance.
“This annual competition will help students strengthen their self-confidence,” said one parent. He commended MES officials for their efforts to upgrade the skills of Indian children.
The counseling given to contestants by psychiatrist Dr. Abdullah Moopan of Abeer Medical Group helped them face the stage interview with confidence. K.K. Vijayan, consul for welfare, distributed trophies and certificates to winners. MES President T.P. Ahmed presided over the function, which was opened by Syed Masood Ahmed, principal of International Indian School, Jeddah.
Individual winners included Hanim Mohammed Ridwan (quiz/essay), Shalini Jethandran (elocution), Mohammed Faisal Akhtar, Sayantan Subrata Das, Bilal Sharqi (quiz), Junaid Saeed Syed, Fahd Ahmed (essay), Ammar Khurshid, Wazim Lathif and Shyam Balachandran (elocution). Other winners were Fathima Zahra, Fathima Zeina, Deepu Suresh and Bright James George.
