The agreement was signed by SFDA Executive Vice President for Medical Equipment and Products Saleh bin Suleiman Al-Tayyar and representatives from Britain’s BSI Management Systems Ltd. and Germany’s TUV SUD Product Service and TUV Rheinland International Gmbh.
SFDA President Mohammed Al-Kanhal and senior officials from the British and German Embassies were present at the signing ceremony.
The companies included British Company BSI Management Systems Limited and German Companies of TUV SUD Product Service and TUV Rheinland International Gmbh.
BSI represents UK economic and social interests across all of the European and international standards organizations and through the development of business information solutions for British organizations of all sizes and sectors. BSI British Standards works with manufacturing and service industries, businesses, governments and consumers to facilitate the production of British, European and international standards. “The cooperation with the signatories will enable SFDA to allow only drugs and medical equipment that meet the international standards,” said Al-Tayyar.
He added that under this program, a panel will test and certify the medical products and equipment that they are in par with all global standards.
