The Italian tenor was welcomed by a local choir on Thursday at Lanseria airport, north of Johannesburg. Accompanied by his wife, Bocelli received a beaded vuvuzela from the choir and the musician tried to blow into the horn.
On his first trip to South Africa, Bocelli says he is "moved" to be in the country and wants to leave "a good memory" of himself. Bocelli says fans should expect pieces from both Italian opera repertoires and his personal work. The closing concert will be held Friday in Johannesburg.
