Sheikh Mohamed Marzook Al-Harithy, the center’s director, praised the Keralite community in the Kingdom for their hard work. “The name Kerala might have been derived from the Arabic word “Khairalla” (God’s bounty),” he said.
Moosa Koya, its president, welcomed all to the center and invited them to make use of its educational facilities and gain knowledge of Islam. In addition to an Islamic school for expatriate children, the center runs an audio-video-book library as well as relief and employment wings.
Hussein Madavoor, the secretary general of All-India Islahi Movement, who delivered the keynote address, expressed his happiness at the rapid spread of Islam all over the world despite the smear campaigns by the enemies of the divine religion.
Wajdi Akkari, Prof. T. P. Ahamed, Mohammed Saleem Sullami, general secretary of Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama and Prof K. Mohamed, chairman of the center’s advisory board, also addressed the gathering. Representatives of different organizations in Jeddah gave felicitations speeches. Basheer Vallikkunnu welcomed the audience while Mansour K.C. offered a vote of thanks.
