Your former employer has no right to interfere in any way. If he does, he would be breaking the law and could be subjected to legal action for such harassment.

At any time during your service, your company has no right to terminate you before the end of your contract or if your do not have a contract ending period then in this case they cannot terminate you before the end of your Work/Residence Permit. As to air tickets, your company is obliged by law to give you a return ticket home. This is not compensation; it is an obligation on every employer, unless the employee has relinquished this right.

You cannot transfer your iqama to another sponsor until you have completed two years with your current sponsor. Secondly, you cannot transfer your iqama without your sponsor’s permission through the no-objection certificate and other administrative forms required to facilitate the transfer. Without your sponsor’s willingness to release you to another employer, you have to leave the country.

You may of course ask you sponsor to help you in the transfer, but there is nothing in the law that compels your sponsor to do that unless you have had a condition in your agreement with him to do exactly that.
