Security officers managed to locate the vehicle inside a walled compound about four kilometers away from Uhd Rafeeda, but the money and the driver were gone.
Police, however, arrested three suspects in connection to the robbery. The men were driving a new Lexus valued at SR325,000 and had links to the driver of the armored van, who joined the secure transport company about a month ago. Police also questioned a person whose name was mentioned in the suspect’s job-application form with the company.
Maj. Gen. Obaid Al-Khamash, director of Asir police, is supervising the search for the man and the missing millions.
