Once knocked over the driver of the car and a passenger stole the woman’s handbag, mobile phone, ID card and jewelry before fleeing the scene.
Eyewitnesses were able to give the police descriptions of the car and the two men, both of African origin. The car was later located and police were able to arrest the two men. The men have confessed to the crime. Officers are currently investigating whether they had been involved in other similar crimes.
Police in Riyadh also arrested two men in their 20s for breaking into cars to steal items from inside. The two men were arrested after officers became suspicious of them sitting in a car parked close to another. When officers approached them, the two men fled on foot. They were subsequently arrested and are also being questioned.
