The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Jalil Hasan, who graduated from Lower Merion High School last spring, says the US school district activated remote-tracking software after he left the laptop at school Dec. 18.
The lawsuit filed Tuesday in federal court says the surveillance software remained activated for about two months after the laptop was returned, and more than 1,000 photos were taken from the webcam and screen shots.
Attorney Mark Haltzman is representing Hasan and his family, as well as another family that filed a similar lawsuit in February. The district has declined to comment.
