Economic revival and increased demand in Saudi Arabia has led Regus, a provider of innovative workplace solutions, to open its first business center in Dammam, its 18th in the Gulf. The coastal port is the largest in the Gulf and the capital of the Eastern Province. The Dammam Area has grown rapidly since oil was discovered there in the 1930s, 40s and 50s, and has since diversified from oil and shipping into commerce, science and manufacturing. Regus already has two centers in Riyadh. The new center in Dammam will give businesses, many of them foreign, a base from which they can drive further growth as the Kingdom surges ahead on the back of increased domestic consumption and capital investment. “We are excited to be opening a centre in the thriving area of Dammam, which offers a great opportunity for VP Africa and Middle East for Regus. “We expect demand to soar as businesses see the area’s potential for growth and the Kingdom’s economic outlook improves. Our flexible workplace solutions will give rapidly accelerating businesses and start-ups the support they need to expand, as well as an instant footprint for international corporations.” Another reason for Regus’ further investment in the country is the Kingdom’s determination to promote non-oil industries so the country is less dependent on the petroleum sector, which accounts for 45 percent of GDP. Regus Dammam Business Park is in the sought-after Novotel Business Park, easily located on the highway between Alkhobar and Dammam, two miles south of the city center.
