The requirement is that you have a university degree and earn at least SR3,000 a month. Your employer cannot do anything unless you fulfill those two requirements under the law. As far as the promise to help you get your family here: You are eligible for compensation if this was some kind of formal agreement on the part of your employer and not just loose talk with no substantive evidence.
 

That is a question for the US mission in Saudi Arabia to answer. If he meets the criteria and you can bear his expenses then he should be eligible. Your son should be able to leave Saudi Arabia on his own on a passport.
 

This is possible, but you will have to work it with your employer, the Canadian authorities and the Saudi Passport Department.
