Speaking at the inauguration function of the MNS BEST
worker's union, Raj said: "Even if both the public sector undertakings
incur losses, I will ensure that they are not privatized in any circumstances.
There is no other service in the country compared to BEST. And this is solely
due to the sincere work of the employees and workers of BEST.
Mocking the Mumbai police for serving him with a notice
warning him to refrain from making provocative speeches, Raj said: “After
launching campaign against the cab and auto cab drivers, I was served a notice
by the police. Presently my residence walls are pasted with several notices by
the police.”
Making mockery of the police notices, Raj read out what he
said were the silly contents in these notices.
“In state government’s view I indulged in giving provocative
speeches. However, I will continue to do whatever I can do in the interests of
the people and Maharashtra. I am neither scared nor a coward. I don’t care. Let
the government take whatever action it wants to take against me. I will not
dither from my stand. I speak out on the issues and questions that bother the
common man and ignites anger in their mind and express their anger. Even if I
am issued thousand of notices, I will not hesitate from raising and speaking
out for Maharashtra and Marathi speaking people,” said Raj.
Taking a dig at his estranged cousin and Shiv Sena working
president Uddhav Thackeray indirectly without naming him, Raj said: “If the MNS
raises a certain issue, immediately the next day some political party claims of
having raised that issue earlier. Tomorrow this particular party and its leader
will claim that the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain was hanged due to
them."
Meanwhile speaking at a public rally in Nagpur on Saturday,
the working president of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray took pot shots at Nationalist
Congress Party supremo and federal agriculture minister Sharad Pawar and the
Congress-led Democratic Front state government.
“Shiv Sena is not a party that engages in setting. Our role
is blunt and honest. The Democratic Front government that labels allegations
against us should first disclose the number of government lands it has sold off
and give its account. This government is of builders and Sharad Pawar is the
leader of the builders” alleged Uddhav.
Referring to the recent statement of Pawar that the
“settlement and corruption” was on increase among the Opposition in the
Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Uddhav asked as to who made settlement with
the Mumbai Mill employees.
Uddhav alleged that Pawar even sold off cantonment lands and
even grabbed the Mumbai Mills land. The thieves are fully aware of their share
in the stolen properties,” he added.
“Those who allege of terrorism being promoted by saffron
parties, then it should not be forgotten that Congress leaders go to functions
wearing the green and fur caps, a reference he made to the leaders attending
Iftar parties hosted by Muslim organizations during the holy month of Ramadan.
