The daily Shams reported on Sunday that foreign Arab women in Hail are knocking on people’s doors wearing tight abayas and perfume pulling the good old damsel in distress routine, usually involving a tale to get the mark to donate SR100 or so to fix some problem they’re having, such as being stranded without means of transportation.
Another tactic is to approach shoppers and displaying an ATM card issued in some neighboring Arab country while weaving a tale about being stranded with no access to cash from home.
The problem has been prominent enough to urge local authorities to issue a public warning about such games.
