Her arrest comes after Jeddah’s Al-Safa police station received a call from the family reporting jewelry kept inside the house missing. They also reported their housemaid missing.
“Investigators searched the area for the woman and were able to capture her before she was able to dispose of the stolen jewels,” said Jeddah police spokesman Col. Misfer Al-Juaid.
The woman’s fingerprints matched those found at the crime scene.
During interrogation, she admitted her crime and returned the stolen jewelry. She is now facing deportation.
