Education directors in different parts of the country also took charge on Saturday to give necessary instructions to teachers to carry out the ministry’s new plans.
Students will spend 160 days in actual studies during the new academic year (2010-2011), which is scheduled to end on Rajab 20, 1432.
The new academic year will witness the implementation of the comprehensive project for the development of curriculum in Class 1 and Class IV of primary schools and Class 1 of intermediate schools.
All schools in the Kingdom have completed preparations to welcome students for the new academic year, including the preparation of notes and timetables.
Ahmed Al-Zahrani, director of girls education in Jeddah, said the ministry had provided schools with all requirements, including textbooks.
“Teachers in girls’ schools have prepared timetables, distributed students in various classes and made other arrangements to start classes next Saturday,” he said.
