The BJP chief minister of the northern Indian state of Uttarkhand has written a chapter described as a story of the greatness of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
In an e-mail and telephonic talk with Arab News, Officer on Special Duty Dr. Ashok Sharma said BJP Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank has written a chapter on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a book "Let's Learn from Stories" which consists of six stories for kids between the age group of 6 and 12 years.
Dr. Sharma said the author of the book, who is a journalist and editor of a Hindi newspaper, is a well-known author and poet. He has 32 fiction and nonfiction books to his credit translated into several Indian and foreign languages.
Elaborating on the chapter dedicated to Prophet Muhammad, Dr. Sharma said it has been titled "Kindhearted Prophet." The chapter is meant for informing the kids of the greatness of the Prophet.
According to Dr. Sharma, the story is about an old Jewish lady who had the habit of throwing garbage on the blessed Prophet Muhammad. The author said the Prophet was not only a fearless messenger of Almighty Allah but also the most merciful, kind and considerate person.
In the concluding part of the story, the author says that every great person has certain qualities like the blessed Prophet. Like all other stories the chapter on the Prophet has three illustrations in color - one of the Jewish woman, and another two about the ancient city of Makkah.
The chapter on the Prophet has been highly appreciated by several Muslim leaders and preachers. It has shown that the blessed Prophet is greatly respected even by the Hindu community, and what more can be said when a person no less than the chief minister from the BJP, writes about the attitude and greatness of the Prophet, said Sharma.
