Mobily completes its preparations for Haj

The company added that it aimed to match the huge efforts invested by the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to serve the guests of Allah.
Khalid Al-Kaf, Mobily’s managing director and chief executive officer, said the company aimed to maintain its leadership over providing high value, reliable and uninterrupted communication services to pilgrims and allowing them to stay in touch with their families as they performed the fifth pillar of Islam.
This season, revealed Al-Kaf, Mobily expanded the capacity of its network by adding another 100 fixed and mobile towers, all dialed into its fiber-optic network to meet the expected increase in demand from pilgrims.
Mobily’s CEO said the company now has a capacity for 4 million concurrent calls on its network, backed by two international switching centers.
Communications and Infor-mation Technology Commission governor, Dr. Abdulrahman Ahmed Al-Jaafari, inspected Mobily’s services in the holy sites as part of the governor’s overall inspection tour of all participating telecommunication operators this Haj season.
Along with an entourage of Mobily staff and executives, Al-Kaf received the governor during the visit to Mobily’s sites in Muzdalifah and gave him a tour of the premises, briefing him on the company’s preparations. The CITC governor concluded his visit by adding: “I would like to thank Mobily for its tremendous contribution to preparations to serve the guests of Allah. I am happy with what I have seen.”
Al-Kaf thanked the governor for his visit, stressing the company’s commitment to using the latest technologies to ensure its success in serving Haj pilgrims.
Mobily and the Makkah governorate is working closely together as part of an overall strategic awareness campaign. Mobily also works closely with ministries.
