Pinoy students in Jeddah to compete in literary festival

The competition will feature the talents and skills of Filipino students in the areas of Creative, Visual and Performing Arts. Students from Al Dura (Gems) International School, Al Hekma International School, Durat Al Sharq International School, International Philippine School in Jeddah and the New Philippine Sunrise International School are competing.
With this year's theme "Unity Amidst Diversity, Togetherness Towards Progress," Saturno said the competition would also provide a venue for the participants to develop their potential. Categories lined-up at the events are poster making contest, essay writing contest, declamation, oration, show choir competition and vocal duets.
Pinoy-STAR was conceptualized in March 2009 by motivation-driven young professionals with the aim of bringing in a new concept of entertainment for OFWs in Jeddah.
Some of the events organized by Pinoy-STAR under its old name Special Events Group and Bravura Entertainment Philippines in partnership with Total Care Foundation and Guardians International Action Force for Peace, Inc. (GIAFP) were Modelong Pinoy 2009, Pinoy Brain Champs 2009 and Pinoy Fashionista 2010. Future projects and fund-raising events of the group are Kita-kits 2010 in partnership with KASAPI on Dec. 16-17 and the Pinoy Brain Champs on Jan. 28, 2011.

Nesperos, committee on productions design & talent coordination; Saaduddin Alex Tamano, committee on sales & marketing; Edwin R. Bron, committee on awards & prizes and Angelo Monte Rivera, adviser.
