The 2010 summit will be the first in the series organized by naseba, which is officially endorsed by the Ministry of Health. The event is being held under the aegis of Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Yemeni, adviser to the minister of health and general supervisor for ICT, will be attending the summit as well as participating in a panel discussion specifically addressing the emergence of eHealth services in the Kingdom.
Also participating is Dr. Saleh Al-Tayyar, vice executive president of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority who will be sharing his views in a panel discussion focusing on the future of medical devices in Saudi Arabia.
Professor Saleh A. Bawazir, vice president for drug affairs, and Al-Tayyar will also be speaking at the summit that takes place at the Park Hyatt, Jeddah.
The second Kingdom Healthcare Summit, which promises to be bigger and better, will gather influential international and regional decision makers, government representatives, investors and solution providers from the private and public sectors to discuss and decide on the future of health care.
The two-day summit will be attended by over 200 representatives from leading private hospitals, government institutions, international medical firms as well as primary health care academia.
“Saudi Arabia represents the biggest health-care market in the Middle East. As the demand for health services and medical products increases exponentially, the country needs to be able to meet these demands,” said Fabien Faure, group managing director of naseba.
“The Kingdom Healthcare Summit will bring forth these challenges and many more, such as meeting the medical needs of an increased number of patients as well as providing the older generation with international standard health-care facilities. Together with the Ministry of Health, the summit will bring together an array of speakers to help overcome these obstacles.”
