The crown prince commended the tireless efforts made by SAMA to strengthen the Kingdom’s monetary and financial stability, which he described as a distinctive feature of the Saudi economy, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The crown prince also noted the developments achieved in the Kingdom’s banking and financial services offered to citizens and expatriates. The report reviews the most significant developments witnessed by the Saudi economy in fiscal 2009 in addition to developments in the first quarter of the current year.
The report describes the performance of various sectors of the local economy such as the monetary situation, activities of banks and the financial market, the prices of commodities, national accounts, foreign trade and the balance of payments. The report also covered the performance of other productive sectors such as oil, industry, electricity, agriculture, water, transport and communications.
Intelligence chief Prince Muqrin, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation Prince Khaled bin Sultan and Minister of Finance Ibrahim Al-Assaf were also present on the occasion.
