Hamad Al-Nazawi wrote in a register at the court that he has no private claim against the killer of his son and that he pardoned him to win the pleasure of God. He also refused blood money.
“I love my son very much and any amount of money would not be equal to him,” the father said.
The chief administrator of Yanbu received Al-Nazawi at his office and commended his gesture.
The killer had acknowledged that he had pushed Al-Nazawi's son into the well on Oct. 4.
The Civil Defense had found the body after the father reported him missing.
Forensic tests established that the youth had been killed before the body was thrown into the well.
The arrest took place at the killer's house in Amoudi district of Yanbu Al-Bahr.
The killer admitted his crime and showed to police how he killed the youth. The case was transferred to the Commission for Investigation and Public Prosecution before it was passed to the General Court in Yanbu.
